This book was so amazing that I stayed up until 4 a.m. reading it, overslept, and was late to work the morning. When I tried to explain what happened, by boss just exclaimed, "Isn't that such a great book?!"

This book intertwined the stories two women: one living today, completing her Ph.D. in colonial history, and one in the seventeenth-century, accused of witchcraft. The blend of history and mystery in this book kept me guessing until the end!

The first of a series, The Passage is a gripping story of how mankind reacts when society breaks down and all but ends. I can't wait for it's sequel, The Twelve!

Brashares' adult conclusion to the wonderful young adult series, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, was both sad and uplifting. I loved it!!

Next to Love is a deeply moving novel - a different kind of WWII story. By examining the lives of three women on the home front before, during, and after the war, Ellen Feldman opened my eyes to the effects of war that don't immediately come to mind.

This book was simply amazing. I felt honored to read Liz Murray's frank look back at her childhood, fraught with hardships that no one should ever have to experience.

Bonobo Handshake is amazing!! This book will appeal to a varied group of readers as it simultaneously describes our fascinating evolutionary relation, Bonobo chimps, as well as the devastating war and political situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It illustrates the power of the determination to live that is within all of us, and how humans and bonobos aren't very different after all.
